Love Island Fans Want Maya Jama Dumped From The Show

ITV2’s Love Island has wrapped for another summer, and viewers want to see some major changes when the next series rolls around.

While much of the fan discussion online has centred on Series 13 winners Lorenzo and Julia, host Maya Jama’s place on the show was also called into question throughout the season.

Maya’s limited villa appearances sparked jokes about “zero-hour contracts” and search parties, and her upcoming stint on The Celebrity Traitors Series 2 (airing autumn 2026) has fuelled talk that she may have already checked out of Love Island.

Viewers repeatedly noted Maya’s absence during some key moments of the series, with one posting: "Love Island might need a new host next year; she’s barely there.”

Meanwhile, others criticised the host's impartiality. “Unpopular opinion: Maya Jama is one of the most beautiful women in the world, but I don’t think she’s right to host Love Island. She shows bias,” another wrote on X.

The Celebrity Traitors Series 2

With The Celebrity Traitors set to give Maya even more mainstream TV exposure in the coming months, a vocal section of fans see this as the right moment for her to step away from the villa.

"Yeah Maya, it might be time to move on to future endeavours,” one fan commented during the Love Island finale.

While some viewers are ready for a post-Maya era, plenty of fans are still riding for their “queen of the villa.”
