Traitors US Reveals First Look At All-Civilian Season

Faithfuls and Traitors: the wait is almost over. The Traitors: New Blood — NBC’s all-new civilian version of the award-winning reality competition — is nearly here.

A special two-hour premiere airs Thursday, September 17 at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC, with a cast whittled down from more than 60,000 applicants.

Offering fans a glimpse of what lies ahead, NBC just dropped the first 7 minutes of the much-anticipated premiere.

The Traitors Sneak Peek

The first season of New Blood opens with typical dramatic flair, with sweeping shots of Scotland’s Highland hills as cast members meet for the first time on the iconic Traitors train platform.

The players then head toward Ardross Castle, where they are greeted by returning host Alan Cumming.

What to expect from New Blood

This all-civilian season harkens back to Season 1 of The Traitors US, when producers mixed celebrities and everyday people.

New Blood takes the known entities out, so players and audience enter on equal footing, without preexisting biases or built-in favorites.

Otherwise, the same gameplay basics apply. Twenty-two contestants enter the castle ready to work together in a series of missions to build a prize fund worth up to $250,000.

Alan will label most of them Faithful, then secretly designate a few as Traitors. Their sole goal is to keep that secret and undermine and eliminate the Faithful so they can claim the prize for themselves.

The Traitors: New Blood begins airing Thursday, September 17 at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC.
