The Traitors Australia Series 3 Launches With Major Twist
Network 10 / The Traitors
After three years off the air, The Traitors Australia is officially back.
Series 3 premiered this week (August 4) on Network 10, complete with new host Gretel Killeen and an all-reality-star cast of 22.
Season 3 kicked off with a bang
It didn’t take long for the chaos to begin at Claremont Manor.
In a major early twist, the cast were asked to vote for the most “virtuous” player — and Olympic legend and Survivor winner Shane Gould got the nod.

Shane was then handed the task of distributing room keys — with one missing.
She was then given a choice: eliminate herself or send someone else home before the first night even started.
Warning: Spoilers Ahead
Saving herself, Shane chose to eliminate Married at First Sight star Cam Merchant.

Cam was gone in roughly 20 minutes. No murder. No roundtable. Just an abrupt exit that left the remaining players (and viewers) stunned.
While some viewers loved the bold opening twist, others felt it was too harsh and questioned Shane’s decision.
Fans Are Split
“Shane having to boot someone 5 mins into the game. Love this!” one fan wrote on X.
Another viewer called Shane’s choice into question, asking, “Why would she pic Cam?”
“Strange and bad call from Shane,” one fan also commented. “Should have broken up those annoying twins,” they added, referring to identical twin brothers and Love Island stars, Josh and Luke Packham.
