If there's one thing The Traitors US knows how to do, it's serve up drama — but even host Alan Cumming admits not every twist lands perfectly, especially when it comes to casting Donna Kelce as the show's first-ever Secret Traitor in Season 4.

In a recent interview, Cumming opened up about his regrets, saying Mama Kelce's role felt "too obvious" from the jump.

"She was so, um, sort of oddball in the group," he explained. "At that stage, everyone's looking for just anything that's out of the ordinary. And I think perhaps she was... I mean, she wasn't great at defending herself, but I think that was maybe too obvious."

Donna’s traitors journey

Entering the Scottish Highlands castle as the wildcard Secret Traitor handpicked by Cumming himself, Donna operated solo, feeding the main Traitors a shortlist of potential murder victims each night.

However, Donna's journey hit turbulence fast, and by the second Round Table, the heat was on after fellow players clocked her suspicious behavior. Despite her efforts to deflect — pointing fingers at louder players like Michael Rapaport — her defenses fell flat, leading to a near-unanimous banishment just two and a half episodes in.
