Celebrity Traitors Series 1 star Joe Wilkinson has shared how he and Nick Mohammed secretly broke one of the BBC show's strict rules — and it was never shown on air.

As The Sun reports, contestants on The Traitors are banned from using phones or the internet, and are not allowed to communicate with each other outside of filming. Producers have described the setup as “a military operation.”

In a TikTok clip posted by Channel 4, Joe recounted their cheeky rule-breaking during a conversation with Nick.

“I wanted to ask you this because people at home won’t know this, but we used to be able to go to the little gym, and me and you used to run next to each other,” Joe revealed. “We used to run on the treadmill, and you ran so much faster than me and we technically weren’t allowed to speak.”

He continued: “We’d say ‘hello.’ You could say like, ‘what’s the weather like,’ but you couldn’t talk about the show.”

In the clip, Joe’s Celebrity Traitors co-star Nick replied, “We were then going up in the lift back to our respective rooms and you said something like ‘Oh god, I really hope to sort of see you again.’ And I thought ‘Oh god, that’s great,’ because I sort of thought you were a traitor.”

Nick continued, “The idea of you saying that in the hotel, when actually no one was around, would be a really good play to convince me that you were a faithful. I had that thought, and that was like the last time I ever saw you.”

Nick & Joe’s Traitors Journey

As fans may recall, Joe was eventually ‘murdered’ by Traitors Jonathan Ross, Cat Burns, and Alan Carr. Although Nick made it all the way to the final, he lost out on the prize money to comedian Alan, who revealed himself to be the last Traitor standing and took home the gold.
